Bridges: Gender-Inclusive Circle

BRIDGES: Gender-Inclusive Circle

because the world is wide and we are the bridge back home to one another

Cultivate skills to reconnect you with your own life.

(re)Discover what it feels like to find awe, wonder, and joy in everyday moments, every day.

Listening. The act is simple, profound, and yet rarely employed in our everyday lives and conversations.

Deep listening goes beyond holding space to connect with others. It's also about listening to your own still, small voice. That inner voice that gives clarity and speaks the language of the heart. It's about listening to your life and engaging with it not as something to be conquered but to be lived, explored, and danced with. In Bridges we offer you a bi-weekly guide to make this process easy, and a group of kindred souls to support you.

This week alone you've experienced several notable wonders calling your name and a world tugging at your heart to come play, listen, engage, explore...

Did you hear it? Did you follow that thread tugging gently? Or did the calls go unnoticed and the tugging thread snipped in favor of getting one more thing done?

Why do they not teach you that time is a finger snap and an eye blink, and that you should not allow a moment to pass you by without taking joyous, ecstatic note of it, not wasting a single moment of its swift, breakneck circuit? ― Pat Conroy

Bridges isn't about discussing topics - it's about living them.

You'll receive bi-weekly kits via email that guide you into listening to and living your life in a whole new way.

The moment you register you'll begin the journey of reconnecting to your own life in a new and inspiring way!

You'll receive an Embodied Practice "kit" via email. One of the most important pieces in this kit is a collection of spiritual practices and intriguing questions, all related to our first theme of Welcoming & Belonging. Look through these and choose just ONE practice and ONE question. Simply notice what you're most drawn to and follow that. It's just another way we invite you to listen to those inner callings.

These practices take exactly as much time as you want to put into them and the questions are not to be answered.

Bridges isn't about adding to your to-do list. It's about re-engaging in the life you're already living. The suggested practices range from simple, single acts to more involved, interconnected pieces. You'll always chose the practice you're most drawn to and engage with it at the capacity you're able to in those two weeks. The question will live in your heart, be carried lightly in your spirit and be the lens through which you see yourself and others in those two weeks.

Don't seek answers, but instead experience the question.

Engaging the Practice

Select a single practice from a wide selection of ideas or let them inspire you to create your own.

These fill your spirit, not your day.

Living the Question

Select a single question from many. Let that inform the way you live your life and view yourself.

Seek the experience, not the answer.

Sharing the Experience

Listening to others opens your heart and mind, and lets you hear your own inner voice above the noise.

Be seen. Be heard. Be loved.

You'll never have time.

We've created this program to be accessible, affordable, and convenient. And like anything of value it's going to require you to invest your resources to receive what it is you need.

Creating a gender-inclusive circle is something the women we work with have been yearning for, for years! It's a relatively new idea in our culture and we're proud to be serving those in our community with exactly what they've been wanting for so long. Because this is our first year offering this, we're inviting you to be a beta member for an incredibly small financial investment for the value of this experience.

But let's talk about the investment of your time.

When opportunities like this arrive are you inclined to push them away, telling yourself it's a nice ida but you don't have time right now? Well congratulations on being human! It's something we all do because that's how our brains work. We tend to see the future version of ourselves as being more well-resourced and therefore put off doing the things that will actually created that well-resourced version of ourselves we so desperately want.

You may never have the resources you imagine "future you" having, if "present you" isn't willing to take action today to create the well-resourced version of yourself you so fondly envision. Practicing the art of deep listening may not create more hours in your day, but you'll learn to be present with each hour in a way that adds value, appreciation, and a sense of enoughness with the time you do have.

Bridges is a new lens through which to experience the time you already have. The additional investment is just one hour, every other week, to gather with like-hearted humans.

  • BRIDGES is...
  • Accessible: We welcome all adult humans into this Circle. We are committed to making this offering accessible to all genders, cultures, and abilities. If you are experiencing a barrier to joining us in this space we want to know so that we can remove it.

May we be your rope to the barn in the blizzard of these times...

There was a time when farmers on the Great Plains, at the first sign of a blizzard, would run a rope from the back door out to the barn. They all knew stories of people who had wandered off and been frozen to death, having lost sight of home in a whiteout while still in their own backyards.

Today we live in a blizzard of another sort. It swirls around us as economic injustice, ecological ruin, physical and spiritual violence, and their inevitable outcome, war. It swirls within us as fear and frenzy, greed and deceit, and indifference to the suffering of others. We all know stories of people who have wandered off into this madness and been separated from their own souls, losing their moral bearings and even their mortal lives: they make headlines because they take so many innocents down with them.

The lost ones come from every walk of life: clergy and corporate executives, politicians and people on the street, celebrities and schoolchildren. Some of us fear that we, or those we love, will become lost in the storm. Some are lost at this moment and are trying to find the way home. Some are lost without knowing it. And some are using the blizzard as cover while cynically exploiting its chaos for private gain.

So it is easy to believe the poet’s claim that “the blizzard of the world” has overturned “the order of the soul,” easy to believe that the soul—that life-giving core of the human self, with its hunger for truth and justice, love and forgiveness—has lost all power to guide our lives.

But my own experience of the blizzard, which includes getting lost in it more often than I like to admit, tells me that it is not so. The soul’s order can never be destroyed. It may be obscured by the whiteout. We may forget, or deny, that its guidance is close at hand. And yet we are still in the soul’s backyard, with chance after chance to regain our bearings.
