FAQs for Equine Sessions

What will I do in an equine session?

For your initial session, we’ll first have some discussions about what you want to receive in terms of help and support.  It’s OK if you’re not really clear yet on this.  That’s very common!  Sometimes we just have a feeling of wanting something more or something different, and it’s not until we begin this work that clarity emerges.

We will also have some discussions to prepare you for your time with the horses so that your heart, mind, and body are in alignment and most receptive to receiving whatever it is that you need. These discussions center around why horses are so phenomenally adept at this work, and how tuning into these “horse-like” qualities in ourselves can help us to better understand and process emotions, better understand how our social selves have adapted to help serve our way of being in this world, and how to identify our essential selves in order to find new ways of being in this world that are right and true for us.

You will meet the herd and as we practice the meditation of The Gift, one of our horses will choose you as their best teacher.  This happens in different ways for each person, but it is always an affirming, and sometimes surprising experience.

What you explore during your round pen session with the horse is entirely up to you. Often what unfolds during this time is connected with thoughts and feelings that came up for you during our work earlier in the day.  Again however, what unfolds can often be surprising to you.  It is a time for your heart to speak up and be heard, while your mind rests quietly in observation.

What age is this work appropriate for?

One of the aspects of this work that I love most is that the information can be adapted for nearly any age, as well as nearly any stage of life development.  Having worked with children for over 20 years and now having my own, I am particularly adept at modifying both information and language to make this work accessible and meaningful for both children and teens, as well as adults. I would recommend children be at least eight, though accommodations may be made on a case by case basis.

How much do sessions cost?

Look over the Private Coaching Options I offer. All fees are available in payment plans and I welcome the opportunity to create a personalized program designed to support and nurture whatever it is your soul is needing to truly come alive!

Are payment plans available?

Yes. All fees are available in payment plans.  Simply email your payment plan request and in most circumstances we are able to honor a timeline that is comfortable for your individual budget. You can also look into our Red Thread Fund to both offer & receive financial support

How long do sessions last?

An initial session typically lasts 2-2.5 hours.  Follow up sessions typically lasts 1-1.5 hours.  This is a general guideline, and varies dependent upon each individual’s needs.

Can my friend, family member, or co-worker participate with me?

Absolutely! This work can be deep and complex.  You will receive a great deal of information in your initial session alone.  Many people find it helpful to have someone in their life experience this work with them so that they may support each other in processing the events and information as it unfolds throughout the following weeks.  We do offer a discount for both individuals participating in a semi-private (2 person) session.  Group rates for three or more are available upon request.

How do I schedule a session?

You can call, email, or text me (Melissa) at 702.306.7530 / thewatershedfarm@gmail.com or you can schedule a DISCOVERY CALL for us to talk more about how I can help you uncover what’s holding you back from living a life of authentic purpose, courageous self-love, bold confidence and creative self-expression! I’ll share with you the various ways I love to show up for my clients, and we’ll make sure we’re resonating with each other in way that feels good for both of us to continue on this journey together, hand-in-hand.
